Ovens in the cheapest hours, without disrupting production

The challenge

Every morning at 04:00 all the ovens switched on at once. That single peak determined a large part of the grid tariff.

Approach

   Compared the consumption per quarter-hour with the production schedule.

   Chose a new start-up order together with the production manager.

   Lowered the contracted capacity after three months without exceeding it.

Result

The peak dropped by 120 kW. The GTV has been lowered; the savings feed straight into the grid tariff.
